Talent Specs Empty
PostSubject: Talent Specs   Talent Specs Icon_minitimeSat Apr 26, 2008 11:24 pm

Hi there,

I've been bored so I decided to go onto the talent calculator at Wowhead.com and work up some talent specs for the classes I've played a lot with. Of course, these are just suggestions and my most important tip is spec your class in a way that makes it fun for you to play. After all, its a game, not a job. These are just some suggestions of specs I've enjoyed playing and will help in raids.

Combat Sword Rogue

The combat tree has all the best steady dmg dealing talents available to a rogue (as opposed to burst dmg, which is more of a PvP thing), and as such is the "classic" raid rogue set up. This is the spec I use as Blade.

I could probably stand to lose 1 of the points in Ruthlessness and both points in Remorseless Attacks and sink them into Improved Slice and Dice (which I use a lot more now I'm raiding) but I can't be assed at the moment.

Affliction Lock

The affliction tree is the tree that deals in the warlocks bestest friend in the whole wide world, the Damage Over Time spell, or DoT. Its a great tree to level with, as its designed to minimize downtime and deal ok damage. This is the exact tree I'll be using with Spooky til I hit 70 and change to a PvP build. (See spec below this for details).

SL/SL PvP Lock

This is the standard PvP build for most warlocks. It makes use of 2 trees, and goes about half way down each. Usually I'd advise against this, but in this case it leads to a really very powerful spec for PvPing with, making the warlock VERY hard to kill. By the way, SL/SL stands for Siphon Life/Soul Link, the 2 talents most used by this tree.

The key to this build is the fact your demons are now a lot more effective and 20% of all damage levelled against you is transferred onto them. A lot of locks will swear by which pet to use when PvPing, and they all have their plus points. The fact that you can drain an awful lot of health and mana back from your enemies is a distinct plus too.

Protection Warrior

The classic tank spec. Its rare that people ever change their tank spec much, the choices are pretty obvious, but its worth having a look at all the same.

Fire Mage

This is the DPS build I use for Runes and its always worked well for me. Designed to max out your damage and really make a mess of mobs, and since they've sorted out the Ignite issue (all your crits now stack into the ignite DoT, meaning if you crit a few times in a row you can get some big numbers from Ignite, I've had 1.5k ticks from it before) as well as being a very nice raid spec. Kinda high on threat, but thats what wands are for.

Uber Beast Mastery Hunter Build

Possibly my favourite character ever (and easily the best geared) is my Night Elf hunter Isalan. I've raided most of the high end content with Isa and I've tried a wide variety of specs, but my favourite has always been Beast Mastery, and helpfully it can make a very respectable raid spec too. Heres the approach I use.

This is the standard BM build, good for levelling and good for raiding. If your raid already has a hunter with Improved Hunters Mark then you can sink the 5 points from that into Efficiency to help your mana stay high.

Well, thats about it. Again, I can only stress that these are specs I've enjoyed playing and I invite everyone to suggest their own specs that they've played, enjoyed or even hated.

Thanks for reading.

Blade/Runes/Spooky(since I'm playing him more)
